Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity

Willems, M.  (2007).  Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity. New York: Hyperion Books for Children.

A Caldecott Honor Book for 2007 with a mixture of photography and hand drawn pictures.

Exposition:  The stars of this book are Trixie, Knuffle Bunny and Trixie's parents and Sonja along with her bunny.

Conflict:  The problem starts when Trixie brings Knffle Bunny to school for show-and-tell and discovers that another girl has the same idea.

Rising Action: Trixie and Sonja begin to fight over the bunnies during class and the teacher takes them away.

Climax:  When school is out, the bunnies are returned to the girls and all is back to normal until it is bedtime and Trixie decides that this is not her bunny.

Falling Action:  At 2:30 a.m. daddy must call Sonja's parents to get Knuffle Bunny back.  Before he can call the phone rings and a talk ensues.

Resolution:  After a few minutes, the dads decide to meet halfway to exchange bunnies.  Trixie and Sonja become best friends during the exchange.

The mixture of photography and hand drawn pictures is a very interesting composition.  I really like this form of illustrations.  It gives a feeling of 3D to the reader.
